Deep Dish Apple Pie

This pie is so good. My husband Jeff loved it better than the original ole apple pie. It was simple to make. If I had an apple peeler-corer it would have be way to easy. The crust has no leavening agent so I had to make an emergency phone call to meredith to check on that. It wasn't rising and I got a little scared. No fears! It was Delicious!!!!!!!!!!! Paula

meredith, the sister between me and hilary, sent us this today.

then after dinner, our doorbell rang. she brought us a piece! it was light and yummy... and sounds so easy (my favorite kind of recipe).

1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp sugar
2.5 cups of apples
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped pecans (or not if you are me)
1 cup flour
1 egg
salt to taste

Place cinnamon, 1 tsp sugar and apples in greased 9" pie pan. Mix remaining ingredients and pour on top. Bake at 350 for 45-60 minutes.

(she even took a picture, the little overachiever!)
